Music is something that brings together people on all levels of society. Whether you are young, old, poor, rich, Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist or any other religion.
MusicForRelief is a non-profit organization founded by the band Linkin Park, that is dedicated to providing aid to the victims of natural disasters and the prevention of such disasters. With the recent event’s in Haiti, MusicForRelief has released a compilation of previously unreleased songs by artists such as Linkin Park, Dave Matthews Band, Peter Gabriel, Alannis Morissette, Slash, The All-American Rejects, Hoobastank, Kenna, Enrique Iglesias and Lupe Fiasco.
All they ask in return for this compilation of great music (which you can preview on their website) is a donation to help the earthquake victims in Haiti.
This is the best band I have heard in a long time. You may have even heard one of their songs before and didn’t know it. Their song Sleepyhead is on the commercial for the Palm Pixi phone.

I’m thinking the intention was, these companies allow people to keep themselves isolated. To make a routine of going alone to get coffee or fast food instead of a family dinner. To communicate through the Internet instead of finding people you know in real life. I mean, networks of channels and profiles let you make comments and put out videos, but in a way none of it is real – it’s all bits and pieces that someone real put out in the past, that stick around like starlight when the star’s gone.
If you haven’t heard of these dudes yet, you’re in a coma. In my opinion this is one of the best rap albums to be released in 2009. The album is available in digital, CD, and Uzi formats. Yes, Mac 11 format (it’s really a USB stick). Not only is the music good, but you can get half of the album for free by promoting GBC!
